What is breast reconstruction?

The most obvious symbol of “femininity” in a woman’s body image is the breasts, which denote social identity and personality formation. However, due to the most common type of cancer in women, the breasts can be partially or totally removed depending on the stage of the cancer.

Breast reconstruction in Turkey is a series of surgical procedures carried out to recreate a breast. Reconstructions are generally carried out after the removal of one or both breasts as part of breast cancer treatment.
