This type of construction is attached to the supporting teeth on either side of the missing teeth.

Stages in the installation of a dental bridge in Turkey

• Examination of the oral cavity. The Turkish dentist examines the teeth that will be masked by the crown. These teeth must be healthy and able to withstand the increased chewing load.
• Preparation. If the retention teeth are destroyed, the dentist removes their pulp, fills the canals and, if necessary, reinforces the teeth with inlays. If the bridge is made on healthy retention teeth, removal of the nerves is not a compulsory measure.
• Face to face. In the case of metal-ceramic bridges, a thick layer of enamel must be removed, whereas non-metal bridges require only minimal facing.
• Manufacture of moulds. Moulds of the upper and lower jaws are taken and sent to the laboratory.

• Try-in. The bridge is fixed and adjusted.

Types of materials for dental bridges

Which is better: dental implants or bridges?

The technique of restoring teeth with dental bridges has been known in Istanbul, Turkey for over 30 years, so patients prefer such constructions to implants. Dental bridges are a good alternative todental implants, but are nevertheless inferior to them.

Advantages of dental bridges :

• The procedure does not require surgery and is not associated with a long rehabilitation period or the risk of the implant not surviving.

• Once the bridge is fixed, the feeling of discomfort lasts no more than 3 days (for dental implantation, the corresponding period is 2 weeks).

Advantages of dental implants :

At the same time, bridges have a limited lifespan and must be replaced at the end of this period. The short lifespan of these prostheses is explained by the properties of the material used to attach the crowns.
• No surfacing or pulp removal is required.
• Dental implants eliminate the problems associated with bone tissue atrophy, as they help to load the bone, whereas dental bridges lead to the destruction of bone tissue that is not subjected to regular loading.
