Find out the answers to the most frequently asked questions about our medical tourism business: why you should trust us, the costs, post-operative follow-up, and how to benefit from priority treatment and preferential rates..
What do you charge? How much do you charge for your services?
BestClinic.co.uk: a completely free service to help you with your medical project. Quotations, advice, support: take advantage of our services free of charge! You only pay for your treatment, directly to the clinic, and only if you decide to have an operation. Estimates are free and without obligation.
How can I find out how much an operation costs?
To find out the exact cost of your operation, simply complete the contact form. You will receive a personalised quote from our partner clinics, taking into account your objectives and your situation. The prices shown on our site are indicative, as each procedure is unique.
How and when do I pay for my treatment?
Payment for your operation is made directly to the healthcare establishment, in euros or local currency depending on the country. Payment methods are flexible: cash, credit card or bank transfer. To avoid any surprises, don’t hesitate to confirm the terms of payment agreed with the establishment before you leave.
Why not contact the hospital directly rather than using your services?
Our completely free service offers you real added value compared with approaching the establishments directly. As a privileged partner, clinics and hospitals will do their utmost to satisfy you. What’s more, we are in the process of signing a contract of trust with our partners, with solid commitments regarding post-operative follow-up. You will benefit from priority treatment and, depending on the region, exclusive advantages such as faster treatment and better rates than direct treatment, as well as hotel room upgrades where possible.
Do you offer payment facilities?
Some partner clinics offer you the option of paying in instalments to suit your needs. We also recommend that you apply to banking partners in your country for consumer micro-credit.
Are there discounts for multiple transactions?
Yes, absolutely! As a privileged partner of our healthcare establishments, we negotiate the best rates for our patients. In the case of several operations combined, you will automatically obtain advantageous discounts from the clinics.
Do the surgeons and staff speak my language?
Most of our surgeons speak English. The translator who will accompany you throughout your medical course and who regularly welcomes international patients will communicate with you in your language. The translator will act as an intermediary between you and the surgeon, and between you and the medical staff.
Can I speak directly with the doctor/surgeon?
Yes, we can arrange this for you, simply fill in the quote request form. You will then be contacted by the clinic. After submitting your medical information and photos, you can discuss this further with the doctor.
Why is surgery and medical treatment abroad cheaper?
The cost of living is generally lower, which has a direct impact on the salaries of medical staff (surgeons, nurses, anaesthetists, etc.). What’s more, the overheads of clinics are also lower: rents, charges, equipment, insurance, etc. All these ‘hidden’ costs account for a significant proportion of the final price, and a reduction in them translates into significant savings for you.
Is the quality of care as good as in my home country?
Turkey has world-class medical establishments, renowned for their excellence and welcoming many international patients. JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation, comparable to American standards, guarantees you high-quality care. So choose clinics with this accreditation.
Are the surgeons qualified and experienced?
Absolutely! Turkish clinics invest heavily in state-of-the-art equipment, attracting highly qualified and experienced surgeons. Turkey is renowned for its expertise, not only in cosmetic, hair, dental and bariatric surgery, but also in cutting-edge fields such as fertility, cellular therapies and cancer treatments.
What do hygiene standards, sterilisation and safety procedures look like?
Hygiene, sterilisation and safety standards are an absolute priority in Turkey. JCI-accredited clinics, like many of those we recommend, comply with extremely rigorous international standards, comparable to those in the USA. Other establishments must comply with local regulations, which also guarantee a high level of patient safety.
What guarantees are there in the event of complications?
Although no medical procedure can be guaranteed to be 100% safe, our partner clinics are committed to offering you high-quality care and rigorous post-operative follow-up. We are in the process of drawing up contracts to formalise these commitments and guarantee optimum support (available soon). In the event of complications, the clinic concerned will take the necessary measures. We also recommend that you take out specific travel insurance to cover any additional costs associated with your stay.
How long does a medical trip last?
The duration of a medical trip varies according to the type of operation. For cosmetic procedures such as Botox or injections, a few hours are enough. For surgery, on the other hand, you should expect to stay for around a week, particularly for the removal of sutures (which can sometimes be carried out by your GP). Some more extensive operations may require a longer stay. Your surgeon will tell you exactly how long this will be during the remote consultation.
Is it safe to travel alone for surgery?
Travelling alone for an operation is perfectly possible, as the medical staff will take great care to accompany you. However, being accompanied by someone close to you can give you extra support, especially if you are discovering a new country. It’s a personal decision, but you should know that you’ll be well looked after and safe whether you travel alone or accompanied.
Are you organising flights, accommodation and transport on site?
It’s the clinics and hospitals that book your flights, accommodation and local transport.
Who will have access to my medical records and confidential information?
Our role is to put you in touch with medical establishments; we are not a medical tourism agency. It is the clinics and hospitals that manage your medical file. Rest assured, we have no access to any of your medical information, which remains strictly confidential and is handled directly by the clinic.
Do you need information or a medical history from my own doctor before I travel?
As we are not a medical tourism agency, we do not collect any medical information. The clinic or hospital you choose will contact you directly to obtain the medical history required for your operation. They may ask you for additional information if your state of health requires it, particularly in the case of surgery.
Does the clinic or hospital offer a transport service from the hospital to my hotel? And from the hotel to the airport?
Yes, absolutely! The clinics and hospitals we work with will take care of all your transfers: airport-hotel, hotel-clinic and clinic-airport. These journeys are included in the medical quote you receive, so you have nothing to worry about!
